Dragon Flight

The Basics
Dragon Flight is a free shooter game for Android and iOS. You control a character, riding on a big dragon. Each time you start a game, you use up a pair of wings. You get a new pair of wings every 5 minutes. You shoot automatically so all you need to do is to go left or right to avoid enemies and enemy fire.

Goals
* Get as far as possible!
* Try to get as many coins as possible.
* Be number one! Your distance score is added to your point score and you automatically get listed on an online leaderboard. The list will be reset once a week.
* Beat your friends! There is also a separate leaderboard among Kakao friends.
* Beat your own personal high score! You will get 6 pair of wings. Score will be reset once a week, but you can still see your best ever score in your Profile.
* Try to get a new Profile item! (read more about Guards later).

Flight Items
During flight, you will occasionally receive different Flight Items. These items are: Dual Shot, Magnet, Hyper Flight and Double Score. Dual Shot will make your character shoot a double ray. Magnet will make your character automatically collect all coins and items within a certain area. Hyper Flight will make your dragon fly faster and kill all enemies it hits (with some exceptions which will be mentioned later), while Double Score is pretty much self-explanatory. All of these item effects will automatically wear off after approximately 10 seconds.

Characters
So far, there are 8 characters:
* Knight Sunny, this is the starting character. No ability.
* Princess Elizabeth, she has the popular auto-magnet ability.
* Assassin Nella can revive one time, so she basically has two lives.
* Alchemist Nia, she always gain double gold during flight.
* Witch Iru, she can use special magic.
* Tamer Rossy makes baby dragons stronger.
* Merchant Lavi refill Power Shot and Slow in Formation (power ups)
* Elementalist Cordelia can change element on demand.

New characters can only be unlocked by using white Gems.
They are rare but you get one white Gem each every day just by logging into the game!

Level Up & Elements
Surviving for long during flight will be difficult at first because the enemies you meet are a lot stronger than you. That is why you will need all the coins you can get; to level up your character. You get coins during flight, but you can also sometimes get coins in your inbox or from downloading other apps. The maximum weapon level you can upgrade to is level 35. After that, or earlier if you prefer, you have a set of features which can also be upgraded, for example increase chance of getting item during flight or add 1 second to an item effect. These are different depending on your character. Please note that these features are very expensive to upgrade.

You can also upgrade your weapon element.
It will be neutral at first, but using white Gems you can add the following:
Fire: give damage x2 to ice enemies and damage x1.5 to all enemies.
Water: gives damage x2 to fire enemies and x1.5 to armored enemies.
Electric: gives damage x3 to armored enemies.
Darkness: gives damage x1.5 to all enemies.

Elemental upgrades will be terminal for your character. Once you buy a new element, you will lose your previous element. I would suggest upgrading at least one of your characters, but you could also find Profile Items that give you elemental powers for free. More about this later.

Baby Dragons
Now to the most exciting part of the game: the baby dragon eggs! In this game, they are called "Hatchlings". Each egg costs 4000 game coins. Each dragon egg contains a random baby dragon, which can join you during flight. At first you can only use one dragon per flight. But you can buy a second dragon spot for 20 000 (!) game coins. This is a lot of money, but trust me: it's worth it!

Since you buy eggs, you will never know what baby dragon you will get. There are currently 78 baby dragons to be collected! Each dragon has its own abilities and they all level up automatically as you use them! But once a dragon reach level 10, it won't receive any more flight experience. To make it reach level 11, you need to combine two level 10 dragons. And to reach level 12 you will need to combine two level 11 dragons and so on... The catch is; you will then have to choose which one of the two baby dragons you have to give up. Did you get the same dragon twice? Don't worry, this is the easiest way to get your baby dragon a new skill!

Sometimes you may also receive a rare baby dragon but they can also be bought separately by using white Gems. But I suggest you save them for buying new characters.

Shop Items & Power Ups
Before each flight, you can buy a number of items and power-ups from the Shop.
Here is what's available in the current version:
* Power Shot. Tried it once but I accidentally activated at the wrong moment. Not recommended.
* Hyper Flight 1500M / 3000M. Not worth the money. You get a better score without it.
* Final Flight. This item can be useful if you want to beat your distance record.
* Slow. It can only be used once per flight. I hardly use it.
* Fly in Formation. Only works if you have two characters. Good, but expensive!
* Nutritious Meat, 10 pieces. Very useful! Will make your baby dragons level up faster!
* Holy Artifact. Gives you a random power. It's cheap, so I sometimes buy it just for fun!
* You can also buy Treasure Chests by using white Gems, but it's nothing I recommend.

Guards & Treasure Chests
Sometimes during flight, a small, strong dragon will appear on screen, called a Guard. It will not attack you, it will just fly back and forth and block your shots. So what is it good for? If you manage to kill one, a Treasure Chest will appear on screen. If you manage to catch it, you will receive a new Profile Item. These can be equipped in your profile and will give you and your dragons a special ability. This is a rather new feature so I think the number of profile items will increase! Please note that the Guard Dragons can NOT be defeated by Hyper Flight!

Evaluation
This game is very addictive, because you will often feel like you died by mistake, and that you can do better! Also, the stronger you get, the more time it will take for you to finish a round! So you will probably get a new pair of wings while you're still playing! And because you'll always feel like you at least want to use up all of your wings, you will never stop playing.

The graphics are really nice and the sound as well. The controls are easy to learn but some of the items could have better solutions. On a negative note, I think it's boring that other usernames aren't showing in the online leaderboard. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong? Another down-side is the fact that there are no male characters whatsoever. What gives? But I really like this game. One of the main things that makes Dragon Flight so special is the huge variety of dragons. The dragon design makes them irresistible, no matter if you're a boy or a girl, you will fall for at least one or two of them.

Trivia
* No one seems to know what the Surprise Banner is for! You can't shoot it, tap it, or fly into it ...
is it just for distraction? We want an answer!
* This game is available in English! But unfortunately, some parts of the game are still untranslated and some parts are even mistranslated, so be careful before choosing to upgrade your character's abilities!
* There are different online leaderboards, depending on your previous score you play in different leagues.
* I am aware of that there are hacks of this game out there, which gives you unlimited Game Coins and White Gems. Personally, I think cheating is wrong, and it takes away the excitement. I hope NextFloor will manage to make a game update which prevents this hack to be functional.
